Some of Shelly's QUICK and EASY, LOW-COST Decorating Projects

Interested in doing some quick projects on your own...here are a few very low cost ideas to get you inspired...

Beautiful vintage-look print.

Perfect for a little girl's room, kitchen...or just about anywhere you might like this colour palette!

Now, this is budget decorating!

Print was bought at a garage sale for 50 cents - It was still in the package!

Frame was purchased at a thrift store (with a different painting) for $4.00. I aged the frame a bit by rubbing on some black paint. THAT'S IT!

Et voila...a great looking print for less than $5.00!

Wonderful large leaf stencil design is OH, SO EASY...and inexpensive! It actually resembles wallpaper!

I used a brown paper bag to make my own custom sized leaf stencil. I traced around it with chalk onto the walls at random spacing. Paint over the chalk lines using any extra paint you may have around the house. Then, freehand the inside of the leaves - it is not as hard as you might think! Try it in different colours for a very unique look!.

This look would be perfect for an Asian, tropical or Savannah themed room!

Rustic look coat rack is perfect for front hallways or basement entryways!

This beauty is made with 2 pieces of pine cut to the same length. I rubbed some black paint on them to give them an aged look while still being able to see the wood grain and texture. Next, I used 2 flower hanging hooks for the end supports. The coat hanger hooks are actually candle holders which I purchased at a dollar store! They work very well - and they don't leave a hook mark on your jackets because their ends are so rounded!

All of this for less than $20.00!

All this project takes is a bit of sewing skills and the right sized ready made towels!

I found just the right size towels to make the shower curtain - in great spa-like colours. It took 6 smaller towels altogether. Simply sew them together and make holes at the top for the shower curtain rings!  I used large metal grommets which you can buy at your local sewing or hardware store.

I made this one for my children's bathroom, which is a beach theme! It is a PERFECT design for this bathroom -  (with the exception of having to remind my children that it is not a big towel for wiping their hands on :-)
